Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) on Monday announced the arrest of two individuals of Asian nationality in the Wilayat of Muttrah, Muscat Governorate, on charges of drug trafficking.
In a statement, the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances said the suspects were caught following a tracking operation, which led to the seizure of more than 60 kilograms of crystal meth and hashish intended for trade. Legal procedures are being completed against them.
This comes shortly after the ROP apprehended six individuals of Asian nationality in Muttrah in a separate case on Sunday. In that operation, police recovered over 55 kilograms of drugs, including 32 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 23 kg of marijuana. Legal proceedings against those suspects are also underway.
