Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, affirmed that Omani Youth Day, which the Sultanate of Oman observes annually on 26 October, is an occasion on which confidence in the youth of this cherished nation is renewed. In an address delivered by His Highness on this occasion, he expressed his pride in their contribution and devotion, and in the awareness and sense of responsibility they embody towards Oman’s present and future.
The text of the address is as follows:
“Loyal youth of Oman,
We celebrate Omani Youth Day on 26 October, a day on which we renew our confidence in the youth of this dear homeland and express our pride in your contribution and devotion, and in the awareness and responsibility you demonstrate towards Oman’s present and its future.
The continuity we celebrate this year is not merely the passage of time; it is an expression of the depth of belonging, the sustainability of giving, and the renewal of faith in the nation and its values. It is an unbroken thread between the past that laid the foundations, the present that is building, and the future we all aspire to for our beloved homeland, the Sultanate of Oman.
Our dear youth,
The Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, believes that youth are the foundation of the Renewed Renaissance and its inexhaustible energy. From this firm belief have sprung programmes and initiatives that enhance your participation and provide you with an environment for creativity and innovation, so that you be true partners in shaping the contours of Oman’s promising tomorrow.
You have proved yourselves worthy of this trust in all fields, carrying the banner of the Sultanate of Oman in the arenas of science and knowledge, the arts and technology, and in sport and voluntary work. With your diligence you make an impact, with your enthusiasm you plant hope, and in your lived reality you embody the meaning of continuity, with all that it entails of sustained inspiration and responsibility.
True empowerment comes through self-belief, continuous work, and earnest striving for leadership. Live up to the trust, be sincere in your endeavours, and be keen to ensure that the name of the Sultanate of Oman remains held high in every field you enter. Know that what you produce today in thought, creativity and mastery is the nation’s provision for its future and for its Renewed Renaissance.
We believe in you, and we see in you the radiant face of Oman’s future, which advances with steady steps towards a tomorrow of greater prosperity and innovation — a tomorrow you fashion with your resolve, safeguard with your values, and illuminate with your passion.
And with every passing year, may the youth of Oman proceed with confidence towards ever-renewed glory.”
