Omani Photographer wins Global ‘Emotions’ category at inaugural Doha Photography Award

Muscat: Omani photographer Ahmed Al Hosani has achieved a significant international victory, clinching first place in the "Emotions" category at the inaugural edition of the Doha Photography Award 2025. His winning artwork, titled "Escape," stood out in a massive global competition, affirming the strength of Omani artistic talent on the international stage.

The Doha Photography Award is a prominent cultural initiative aimed at celebrating the art of photography and honoring talents who use their lenses to convey human stories and impactful visual expressions.

The competition saw overwhelming global interest, with participation statistics highlighting the magnitude of Al Hosani's achievement:

• Total Participants: 5,206 photographers
• Total Submissions: 27,663 images
• Countries Represented: 101 countries

The submissions were categorised across six themes: Qatar, Colors, Story, Black & White, Emotions, and the Junior category, where Al Hosani's work "Escape" earned the top spot.
