Sulakshana Pandit, a renowned playback singer and actress from a prominent musical family, passed away on November 6, 2025, at age 71 due to cardiac arrest while en route to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, her brother Lalit Pandit confirmed.
Born in 1954, she debuted as a child singer in 1969, starred in over 50 films including Uljhan and Hera Pheri, and won a Filmfare Award for her song in Laawaris.
Her death coincided exactly 40 years after that of Sanjeev Kumar, the actor she loved but never married, prompting tributes from family and Bollywood for her enduring legacy in music and cinema.
