Social Development Ministry organises leadership forum in North Al Sharqiyah

Ibra: The Directorate General of Social Development in North A’Sharqiyah Governorate organized a Leadership Forum today to discuss the evolving roles of Omani women in parliamentary councils.

The event emphasized the importance of female participation in legislative and oversight functions, as well as the positive impact of gender diversity on decision-making quality and work-life balance.

The forum was held under the auspices of Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, CEO of Oman Medical Specialty Board. It brought together 120 participants representing public and private sector employees, academics, civil society organizations, Omani Women’s Associations, and members of the local community.

The forum featured two primary working papers that addressed the practical and strategic dimensions of women's leadership.

The event also focused on engaging civil society and the media to create a supportive environment for women. By fostering an influential media discourse, the Ministry aims to boost the Sultanate of Oman’s international indicators related to women's political participation, ensuring that social development remains a collaborative effort between all segments of society.
