We can all look forward for many more good years under the guardianship of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The years of not only prosperity but safety and human dignity. Oman is not just bound with its ancient tradition but the rich culture and historical heritage, too.
The backbone of any successful nation is not about how rich it is but with the youth who are well prepared to take over the mantle of leadership in different areas of the economy. From the day Sultan Haitham has been enthroned to the leadership’s position, he has repeated a number of times the role of the youth to the future prosperity.
Education and employment have been a top priority since the blessed Accession of Sultan Haitham. In his last speech to the nation, he noted that “the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow.”
The wisdom of these words cannot be disputed since the future of any country depends on how well the young citizens are groomed to the right path. As it turns out, about 55 percent of the population of Omanis are citizens under the age of 30.
That makes Oman a nation that has one of the youngest population in the world which opens up to great economical potential. But the journey from the past to what Oman is now has not been an easy one.
From seafaring, to desert crossings and agriculture challenges, Oman has come through from all ages of historical encounters and tests and won them all. Hence, the new Renaissance is a continuation of accomplishments that never stops.
We can only look forward for better successes under the rule of His Majesty Sultan Haitham. In other words, the victory is a never ending circle that always have a room for improvement. Looking back at the nation’s accomplishment in the last five years since the Accession Day, we see economical breakthroughs that range from mega-projects, job creation and international recognition.
It shows Oman is marching forward with the time plotting each charted route on the way very carefully and in a calculated approach for a more glorious future. From investment in the youth, technological advancement to social stability. The Sultanate has all got it under control. Through good citizenship, the government is encouraging people to participate in the decision making in all sectors of the society. All opinions matter in the build-up of the nation. Every Accession Day will also encourage peace and harmony in every corner of the country for all community developments.
Progress is not just about high rise buildings or bigger malls but a better life. It is also about better homes, peace, cleaner environment towards greater satisfaction to all the
communities living in Oman, nationals or expatriates.
