Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by “Oman Exports” and in cooperation with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will participate in the Russia–Islamic World Kazan Forum and Halal Expo 2026, scheduled to take place from May 13 to 15 in Kazan.
The event will witness the participation of several Omani companies seeking to expand their business activities and enter the Russian market as well as markets linked to the Islamic economy.
Oman’s participation comes as part of efforts to strengthen the presence of Omani products in global markets, explore new export opportunities, and establish trade and investment partnerships with promising economies. The initiative also supports the development of non-oil exports and aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 aimed at economic diversification and enhancing the competitiveness of national products.
The Halal Expo is regarded as one of the leading exhibitions specialising in the Islamic economy and halal industry sectors. It brings together companies, investors, and government institutions from Russia and countries across the Islamic world, serving as an international platform for showcasing trade and investment opportunities and facilitating business-to-business meetings.
Lubna bint Mohammed Al Harthi, Director of the Export Development Department at the Ministry, said the participation of “Oman Exports” forms part of the ministry’s plans to expand into rapidly growing international markets and enhance the access of Omani products to new destinations, particularly the Russian market, which is witnessing increasing demand for halal and high-quality products.
She noted that the exhibition offers an important opportunity to highlight Oman’s competitive advantages in the food industries, manufacturing, and consumer products sectors, in addition to introducing the services and facilities provided by the ministry to support Omani exporters and help them access international markets.
Mahmoud bin Sulaiman al Yazidi, Head of Export Promotion at Oman's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and General Supervisor of the Omani Pavilion, said the pavilion will feature a number of Omani companies operating across diverse sectors, including small and medium-sized enterprises.
He added that the participation aims to facilitate meetings with importers from Russia and other participating countries and create new international partnerships for Omani products to boost the volume of non-oil exports.
The participation will also include bilateral meetings between Omani firms and their counterparts from Russia and participating countries to discuss trade cooperation opportunities, export partnerships, and the promotion of Omani products and services in Russian and Islamic markets.
Al-Yazidi said the participation of Omani companies interested in the Russian market reflects the growing interest of the Omani private sector in diversifying export destinations and benefiting from trade opportunities available in Russia and Central Asia.
The exhibition is expected to attract broad participation from government delegations, economic entities, and investors from around the world, alongside specialised economic sessions and business meetings aimed at strengthening trade and investment cooperation between participating countries and Russia.
