
Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister received a telephone call from Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.
During the call, the two officials exchanged views on the latest regional developments amid rapidly evolving circumstances and the challenges they pose to regional security, stability and maritime navigation.
Both sides underscored the importance of sustaining diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, contain the current crisis and prevent the region from sliding into a broader confrontation that could carry significant consequences for countries in the region as well as for international peace and security.
They also reaffirmed that diplomacy remains the most effective path to overcoming the crisis and creating conditions conducive to the safe and uninterrupted resumption of maritime navigation. The discussions highlighted the need to safeguard key maritime routes and ensure the security of international shipping, given their vital role in global trade and economic stability.
The call reflects continued international coordination and consultation aimed at preserving regional stability and promoting dialogue as the preferred means of resolving disputes and preventing further escalation.
