Special Olympics Oman participates in regional beach games in Tunisia

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Special Olympics, is taking part in the tenth Regional Beach Games of the Special Olympics International for the Middle East and North Africa region. The event is hosted by Tunisia and features the participation of eleven countries representing the Special Olympics programs across the region.

This participation underscores Oman Special Olympics' commitment to strengthening the Sultanate of Oman’s presence in regional and international sporting forums.

It also provides athletes with valuable competitive experiences that contribute to refining their sporting skills, developing their personal and social capacities, and reinforcing the principles of inclusion and empowerment through sport.

It is worth noting that the Regional Beach Games rank among the most prominent sporting events organized by Special Olympics International for the Middle East and North Africa region. The Games serve as both a sporting and humanitarian platform that brings together athletes with intellectual disabilities, offering them opportunities for fair competition, experience exchange, and the fostering of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding among participating nations.
