
MUSCAT: Two people were killed and three others injured in a serious road traffic collision between two vehicles on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road, while heading towards the Wilayat of Mirbat, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
According to the ROP, the accident claimed the lives of two individuals and left three others with injuries of varying severity.
The ROP Air Wing carried out a medical evacuation operation for an injured person of Asian nationality, transporting the victim to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah for urgent medical treatment.
Emergency response teams attended the scene, providing medical assistance to the injured before they were transferred for further care. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or the cause of the crash.
The incident is the latest in a series of serious road accidents reported on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road, with authorities continuing to urge motorists to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits and avoid risky driving behaviour, particularly on long-distance route.
