Cairo — A business delegation from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in North Al Batinah Governorate explored, during its visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, available investment opportunities and commercial cooperation between the two countries across several vital sectors.
The visit's program included organizing the "Industrial Forum" in Cairo through joint efforts between the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo and the OCCI branch in North Al Batinah, with the participation of a number of Omani businesspeople and their Egyptian counterparts in the fields of food and pharmaceutical industries, aluminum, shipping and maritime transport, and real estate and industrial development.
The forum's activities were held under the auspices of Abdullah Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, in the presence of officials from the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the Commercial Representation Service in Egypt.
In his speech, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of direct meetings between business sectors in both countries, noting that the governorate delegation's visit about three years ago resulted in the launch of three investment projects in the Wilayat of Sohar.
He expressed his hope that the current visit would lead to new economic partnerships that enhance investment integration, particularly in the fields of food and pharmaceutical security and real estate development.
For his part, Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of OCCI branch in North Al Batinah Governorate and head of the delegation, explained that the visit aims to mutually showcase investment opportunities and provide a platform for delegation members to develop their businesses and expand the horizons of commercial and industrial cooperation.
The competent Egyptian entities presented a review of the facilities and incentives granted to investors.
The forum witnessed a visual presentation prepared by Mohammed Qasim Al Shizawi, Head of the Investment Development Department at the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah, in which he highlighted the comparative advantages and economic indicators of the Sultanate of Oman, the incentives available in economic zones and industrial cities, and investment opportunities in the industrial, agricultural, and real estate development sectors.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation held talks with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone to discuss investment cooperation prospects, and conducted a field tour that included Ein El Sokhna Port and several industrial projects in the area.
The delegation also visited the headquarters of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce. The program concluded with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
