It does not cease to amaze me that some writers plagiarise online by tweaking a few words on articles written by someone else and plug in their bylines to try to make it look original.
This without question is plagiarism and many readers know that but editors should run a check online before accepting the articles and publish them. Some newspapers try to be clever. They prevent articles from plagiarism checks by disabling copy and paste. In that case, just type the words on Google and search and you can find the similarities online.
Plagiarism is stealing someone’s work. It is downright cheating and such writers should be ashamed of themselves. Yes, writers like them use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to scan, copy and paste and send it to the newspapers. Newspapers which allow that lose credibility. Editors need to do their work to make sure of the originality of the articles instead of just pushing them out.
It is not difficult at all to find a topic to write. I would urge these plagiarizing writers to look around them. People walking in the street corners, mad drivers, mischievous children or the turmoil they see around them. There are topics everywhere. But again, if they are not interested in their surroundings, they can write about their feelings. Topics are in abundance. They only need to have roaming eyes or wandering minds.
The daily life is full of joys when you look at the right places. Even if your eyes get caught in a confusion, you can skirt around the issue and find something positive about it. The mind is limitless and you can let your thoughts loose wandering in the abysses of the daily life. I guess plagiarizing writers look for a quick ‘write up’ and too lazy to delve into their minds. Let me rephrase it. Perhaps they are too incompetent to put a sentence together that makes a good read.
But plagiarisers lose credibility and so are the newspapers which printed their AI work. Let me explain the obvious, AI picks up sentences from different articles around the world based on a topic of interest, and put them together in one piece. It shows that the writer did not write it.
How do we know? Each sentence does not correlate to the topic because it is the work of many writers. Such articles lose smoothness. It is like flying in an aircraft in a turbulent weather. The opening paragraph points a finger to plagiarism and the second takes you deep into a copyright infringement. It is like wearing a second hand shirt that is already worn out. The freshness has gone.
This raises another question. Has literature originality lost its shine on readers? What is the future of these invading AI writers? Will they continue to plagiarise? The answer is with the editors of the newspapers. They need to clamp them down or no one will bother to read anything but the war and news of the disasters happening around the world.
Original literal pieces to calm yourself is on the track of disappearance and I am not exaggerating unless AI writers are stopped now.
