Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s Royal Cavalry is participating in the 2025 Windsor Royal Horse Show, held at Windsor Castle in Britain until May 18. The event showcases Oman’s equestrian heritage and tourism through a visual presentation titled "Oman: The Jewel of Arabia," highlighting the country’s cultural and natural treasures.
The Royal Cavalry is performing traditional Omani equestrian displays, including horse discipline techniques, saddle training, and the Rakd Al-Ardha racing style. The cavalry’s band is also playing Omani and Arabic musical compositions.
The show coincides with international competitions in show jumping, endurance, dressage, carriage driving, and foal exhibitions, with participation from countries worldwide.
Colonel Toby Brown, head of the British Royal Cavalry and chairman of the Windsor Royal Horse Show, emphasized the strong ties between Oman and the UK, expressing appreciation for the Royal Cavalry’s contribution, which has enriched the show for years. He noted that their performances captivated British audiences by showcasing Oman’s beauty.
Engineer Hilal bin Mohammed Al-Waeli, head of the equestrian division at the Royal Court, emphasized that Oman’s participation highlights its rich cultural heritage and equestrian traditions. Dr. Sarhan bin Salem Al-Zaidi, director-general of the Royal Cavalry, stated that their performances—such asRakd Al-Ardha and horse discipline displays—demonstrate the skill and deep connection Omani riders have with their horses, impressing audiences at the event.
