Turbulent waters: ROP cautions fishermen during Khareef season

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a stern warning to fishermen regarding the dangers of venturing out to sea during the ongoing Khareef season. The ROP urged all fishermen to strictly adhere to safety guidelines due to the turbulent sea conditions prevalent during this period.

In a statement, the ROP highlighted that the Khareef season brings with it highly turbulent seas and significantly rising waves, making fishing activities particularly hazardous. Therefore, it is strongly advised against going fishing during this period.

The ROP emphasised the critical importance for fishermen to continuously follow official weather updates and to comply with all maritime safety instructions issued by the authorities to ensure their well-being.
