Bangladesh Social Club Oman launches Engineers Wing

Muscat: The Bangladesh Social Club Oman (BSC Oman) has launched a new Engineers Wing, bringing together Bangladeshi engineering professionals in the Sultanate under a single roof.

The wing, which received approval earlier this year from the Ministry of Social Development, officially began operations last week with the announcement of a 20-member executive committee.

The body is led by Convenor Engr. Saiful Islam Mozumder, General Secretary Engr. Abul Kalam Sazzad, Joint Convenor Engr Nickson Barua and Eng Riajul Islam Chowdury.

Speaking at the inauguration, the convenor said that the Engineers Wing aims to unite Bangladeshi engineers in Oman and strengthen their role in both the government and private sectors.

“Our commitment is to work for the betterment of society, to respect the law of the land, and to create value both for Oman and for our homeland, Bangladesh,” Eng. Saiful said.

Joint Convenor Nickson Barua added that the initiative would also encourage professional collaboration and knowledge-sharing among members of the community.

The approval of the Engineers Wing follows months of effort by the BSC Oman central committee, headed by Chairman Sirajul Hoque, Chief Patron Ifthekar ul Hasan Chowdhury, and General Secretary M. N. Amin. Committee members said the establishment of the new wing reflects the growing contribution of Bangladeshi professionals to Oman’s development. BSC Oman currently oversees seven active wings, with two more awaiting ministry approval. Officials said the Engineers Wing is expected to play an important role in expanding the club’s professional and community service activities.

Members of the new committee expressed gratitude to the Omani authorities for their support and pledged to work in line with the Sultanate’s laws while continuing to promote a positive image of Bangladesh abroad.
