OEX 2025 celebrates Oman’s employee experience and future of work

Muscat: The Oman Employee Experience (OEX) Summit & Awards 2025, held on November 10 at the InterContinental Muscat, gathered Oman’s leading HR and business professionals to discuss the evolving world of work and celebrate excellence in employee engagement.

Organised by Gulf Leaders Circle in collaboration with Times of Oman and Muscat Media Group, and supported by the Omani Society for Human Resource Management (OSHRM), the summit was graced by His Excellency Hamed Al-Nazouani, Undersecretary of Housing at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, as Chief Guest.

Green Umbrella Recruitment served as the event’s Strategic Partner.

His Excellency Hamed Al-Nazouani said, “The OEX Summit represents a leading national platform that embodies the strategic direction of the Sultanate of Oman towards empowering national talent and strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors in the fields of employment and human capacity building. This event comes at an important stage in the national development journey, as the government seeks to establish the concept of a knowledge-based economy and provide a stimulating work environment that keeps pace with the demands of the changing labour market”.

He commended the role played by Muscat Media Group through its integrated platform in organising the conference, highlighting success stories and promising opportunities for Omani youth, adding that the media is a key partner in supporting national visions and shaping the future.

In his welcome address, Mohamed Issa Al Zadjali, Chairman of Muscat Media Group, stated that the Oman’s journey toward Vision 2040 depends on its people, and events like OEX celebrate the people behind transformation, innovation and culture-building.

Delivering the keynote, Dr. Mohammed Al-Najjar, Director General of Training and Development at the Ministry of Labour, emphasized that employment is a shared national responsibility that requires full coordination between public and private sectors. He stressed that the next stage calls for a unified national alliance to build a more efficient and adaptable labour market.

“The Ministry of Labour’s new strategy establishes an integrated system based on skills and competencies, aimed at creating a more efficient labour market and ensuring better alignment between educational outcomes and the needs of the national economy,” he said. “This strategy also contributes to developing the employment and training ecosystem by updating curricula and training programmes according to national professional standards, ensuring that Omani talent is fully prepared to compete in both local and global markets.”

Dr. Ghalib Al Hosni, Chief People Officer at Omantel and Chairman of OSHRM, underscored the strong connection between employee happiness and business success. In his presentation, he showcased Omantel’s people-centric culture and a series of initiatives focused on employee engagement, wellbeing, and diversity - key drivers, he noted, of the company’s sustained performance and innovation.

A highlight of the day was a panel discussion on “Building the Future of Work: Designing Employee Experiences that Matter.” The event concluded with the OEX Awards Ceremony, held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Faris bin Turki Al Said, honouring 21 outstanding organisations and HR leaders.

Drawing over 175 participants from across industries, the OEX Summit 2025 reinforced Oman’s commitment to building empowered, future-ready workplaces aligned with the vision of a thriving, people-driven economy.

The event was supported by Oman American Business Council (OABC), Elevatus, MENA HR Solutions, Interface Incorporated, Infoline, Jotun Paints, GBM, Minara, McDonald’s and Changan.
