A’Seeb: The Imam Jabir bin Zaid Waqf Foundation held its fourth annual ceremony today in the Wilayat of A’Seeb, celebrating its achievements for the year and launching extensive community partnerships.
The event was held under the auspices of Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, in the presence of several high-ranking officials.
The annual celebration aims to highlight the Foundation's accomplishments in the field of community endowments over the past year. It also serves to review its future strategic directions and plans to enhance the developmental role of Waqf (endowment) in community service, support local initiatives, and expand partnerships with government entities, the private sector, and civil society organizations, in line with its mission.
During the previous period, the executive management focused on digital transformation to ensure precision in data and operations management, which has positively impacted performance quality, speed of execution, and information reliability.
The ceremony witnessed the signing of several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). These included a cooperation agreement to support the "Quranic Licenses" project and Tajweed courses with Sultan Qaboos Unviersity, a cooperation agreement to support "Sukoon Al Rahma" (Mercy Housing) at the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre with the University Medical City.
An MoU was also signed with “Athar” Health Waqf Foundation to solidify strategic partnerships and enhance integration in health endowments to meet contemporary challenges and achieve sustainable development goals.
An MoU was also inked with Bousher Waqf Foundation to establish a robust institutional cooperation framework to elevate the endowment sector in Oman and ensure its sustainability and compliance with Sharia purposes.
The Foundation handed over "Atta" (Giving) initiatives to various charity teams across the Sultanate's governorates, supporting education and humanitarian aid.
The event included a dialogue session between the Foundation and its partners to discuss strategic directions and the development of endowment projects. Additionally, a Sharia workshop titled "Between Waqf and Will: Sharia Regulations and Practical Applications" was conducted by Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Al Kharousi from Sultan Qaboos University. Attended by over 100 participants, the workshop addressed the legal distinctions between endowments (Waqf) and wills (Wasiyya), common errors in drafting, and real-world practical models.
