
Riyadh: A specialised workshop was held on Tuesday to review Omani-Saudi relations and the prospects for their development. The session took place as part of a diplomatic course involving several Omani diplomats at the Prince Saud Al Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies.
Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the GCC Department at the Foreign Ministry, presented a working paper detailing the foundations of the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the continuous development witnessed across various political, economic, and developmental fields.
During his lecture, he addressed the dimensions of strategic cooperation between the two countries and its future horizons, emphasising the importance of permanent coordination and the integration of roles in supporting the system of joint Gulf action. He further noted the significance of these ties in strengthening the pillars of security and stability in the region to achieve common interests and serve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The workshop discussed prospects for enhancing the Omani-Saudi partnership in light of the role undertaken by the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council and the enablers of Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030. It underscored how this partnership represents a fundamental pillar for keeping pace with regional and international changes through a spirit of understanding and constructive cooperation.
