Omani citizen takes initiative to release 30 insolvent debtors

Ibri: For the 10th year in a row, an Omani citizen took the initiative to release all 30 insolvent debtors detained by court order in A’Dhahirah Governorate. His offer applies to those who meet the conditions of the “Fak-Kurba” Initiative (Relief from Distress Initiative).

The same citizen vowed to pursue his initiative during the rest of the holy month of Ramadan by securing the release of any new cases of insolvent debtors.

It is worth noting that “Fak-Kurba” Initiative has been undertaken by the Omani Lawyers Association since the initiative was first launched in 2012.

The Omani Lawyers Association has so far helped release more than 8,198 debtors detained in non-criminal financial cases—its theme being “Because we believe that a human being deserves another chance.”
