Muscat: India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a special assessment scheme for Class 10 students in the Middle East after cancelling exams on March 5, 2026, due to the ongoing regional conflict.
Exams held between February 17 and 28 were completed, covering 44 papers. Results will be declared along with other students.
Students who appeared for all papers will be assessed on actual performance. Those who wrote four exams will have marks for the remaining subject calculated using the average of their best three scores. Students who appeared in three exams will have remaining subjects assessed using the average of their best two marks. For those who wrote only two exams, the average of those two papers will be used to award marks for all remaining subjects.
Students registered up to 2025 for limited subjects will be assessed on actual performance, with an option to appear for second board exams if any paper was missed.
CBSE said internal assessments will remain unchanged, results will be final, and no special exams will be held outside policy. The Class 12 assessment scheme will be announced separately.
