Royal Camel Corps’ ‘Fand’ crowned with HM the Sultan’s Camel Racing Festival Cup 2026

Barka--- At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Dr. Kamil bin Fahd Al Said, Secretary General at the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers, patronized over the conclusion of His Majesty the Sultan’s Camel Racing Festival 2026.

Held at the Al Fulaij track in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate, the event was organized by the Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Camel Corps, and spanned six consecutive days.

The camel "Fand," owned by the Royal Camel Corps and trained by Hamad Salem Al Judaili, secured first place in the fifth round for the "Al Haw’l" category, claiming the prestigious His Majesty the Sultan’s Camel Racing Festival Cup for this year.

The final day featured six main rounds. The first round was designated for the "Hagayeg" category over a distance of 4 kilometers, while the second round was for "Lagaya" over 5 kilometers. The third round was for "Jidha’a" over 6 kilometers, and the fourth for "Thanaya" over 8 kilometers. The fifth round was dedicated to "Al Haw’l" over 8 kilometers, while the sixth and final round featured human riders in the "Al Haw’l" category over a distance of 2 kilometers.

The final race included various segments, including a display of a carriage pulled by forty camels, an artistic presentation by Anwar Al Maabilah Private School, and Ardha races and camel-back displays.

Traditional vocal arts such as Al Razha, Al Azi, and Al Hamasiah were performed by the Royal Court Affairs band, alongside musical selections by the Royal Camel Corps and Royal Cavalry bands.

At the conclusion of the event, HH Sayyid Dr. Kamil bin Fahd Al Said presented awards to the first-place winners of all race days.
