Sohar: The Wilayat of Sohar, Governorate of North Al Batinah, was on Monday venue to the opening of an awareness exhibition for events of the “Food Safety Week 2026”.
The two-day exhibition was organised by the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in the North Al Batinah Governorate.
The event was held under the auspices of Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Hinai, Wali of Sohar.
The exhibition is the outcome of partnership among various government departments, including North Al Batinah Municipality, the Directorate General of Health Services and the Directorate General of Education. It reflects a model for institutional joint action aimed to promote food safety concepts and protect the health of the community.
The exhibition aims to promote community awareness by disseminating food safety concepts and practices among various segments of society. It seeks to consolidate food safety culture by highlighting the safest ways to consume and preserve food, in addition to activating direct interaction with members of the public.
The exhibition presents successful models and practical applications in the field of food safety, with the prime objective of establishing healthy food consumption habits.
