SALALAH: In the Women’s Premier League conducted in Salalah for the past three years, this season’s final could not produce a single winner. As a result, both teams — Speed Salalah and Salalah Indians — were declared joint champions.
Batting first in the final, Salalah Indians scored 57 runs. In reply, Speed Salalah also managed to reach exactly 57 runs in the allotted overs, leading to a thrilling tie.
In a dramatic final over, Speed Salalah needed 23 runs to win. Subalin played an outstanding knock, scoring 22 runs with the help of two massive sixes, bringing the match to an exciting tie. As the tournament did not include a Super Over rule, both teams were officially announced as joint winners.
