
Muscat: The Omani-Pakistani business meeting, organized today by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in Muscat, explored ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the private sectors of the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The meeting saw the participation of a number of business owners and investors from both countries.
The meeting focused on several vital sectors, most notably food security, agriculture, the retail sector, in addition to import and export activities. This reflects the significance of these domains in supporting bilateral partnerships and expanding the horizons of joint investment.
The discussions examined means of developing trade and investment exchange between the two countries and underscored the pivotal role of the private sector in driving economic relations through the establishment of strategic partnerships, the exchange of expertise, and the exploration of promising opportunities across various sectors.
During the meeting, several visual presentations were delivered covering the OCCI’s role in supporting international relations and enhancing the business environment, along with a range of services and initiatives aimed at facilitating business practices and attracting investments. The presentations also highlighted indicators of bilateral trade exchange.
The Pakistani side presented a visual overview of the rice production sector and the development of value-added products associated with it.
The meeting also included direct bilateral sessions between representatives of Omani and Pakistani companies, during which the parties discussed the formation of commercial partnerships and explored new collaboration opportunities, thereby supporting the growth of trade exchange and reinforcing economic integration between the two countries.
