Taqah: A panel discussion titled "Together for Youth Development," held as part of the conclusion of the Taqah Youth Development Forum, explored ways to enhance integration and cooperation between government entities concerned with supporting and empowering youth, with the participation of several government bodies and the private sector.
The session also discussed youth, entrepreneurial, and tourism programmes, initiatives, and projects, aimed at strengthening the role of youth as active partners in achieving national and developmental targets in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Asma Ali Al Maashani, Supervisor of the forum's organisation at the Planning and Wilayat Development Department at the Office of the Wali of Taqah, stated that the forum's programmes were conducted from 29 April to 11 May. These included several training courses in artificial intelligence tools, content design via "Canva," and project management, in addition to a "Train the Trainer" programme aimed at qualifying job seekers from the wilayat to enhance their opportunities to enter the labor market and engage in youth projects.
She added that 24 young job seekers were qualified in the field of developing training skills, opening promising future horizons for them. She noted that the number of applicants for the training programmes exceeded 300 participants from the wilayat, featuring interaction and participation from various wilayats across the Dhofar Governorate.
She further explained that the forum showcased, through a visual presentation, the impact of previous editions on developing youth capabilities and their continued participation in its programs, making it a model that attracts youth participation from both within and outside the wilayat. She emphasised the importance of integration among youth across different wilayats to support the national development process during the upcoming stage.
The closing ceremony of the forum was held under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, who honoured the supporting institutions and participants in the forum's activities.
