
Manama: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 167th session of the GCC Ministerial Council, which was held today in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the meeting was headed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council.
The Ministerial Council discussed the latest developments in joint Gulf action and the progress made in implementing decisions and initiatives aimed at enhancing integration and interconnectedness among member states across various political, economic, security, and developmental fields, thereby strengthening the position of the Cooperation Council and its pivotal role in consolidating security and stability and advancing the paths of development and prosperity for the Council's countries.
The meeting reviewed the rapid developments on the regional and international arenas, foremost of which are the challenges imposed by the Israeli-American war on the Islamic Republic of Iran and its dangerous repercussions on regional security and stability.
The Council emphasized the necessity of an immediate halt to the ongoing military targeting, and the intensification of political and diplomatic efforts aimed at containing the crisis and addressing its causes through peaceful means, in a bid to preserve the security of the region and safeguard the interests of its countries and peoples.
