Foreign Minister holds phone call with Iranian counterpart

Muscat— During a telephone call, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran addressed the outcomes of the visit of Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman.

They also touched upon reaching an understanding on a joint cooperation mechanism toward achieving the desired objectives of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding regarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The two ministers also discussed the relevant interim arrangements in a manner consistent with the rules of international law and respect for state sovereignty.

Furthermore, the ministers expressed their satisfaction with the Iranian delegation's visit to Muscat and the constructive discussions that took place.They emphasized the importance of continuing consultations and following up on topics of mutual interest through diplomatic channels, thereby enhancing the ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
