India confirms death of national in attack on MV Cape Dao

Muscat: India Embassy in Oman said it is closely monitoring the attack on the merchant vessel MV Cape Dao while it was transiting towards India and is coordinating with Omani authorities over the safety of the crew, including 19 Indian nationals.

In a statement, the Indian mission said it was “deeply saddened” by the death of one Indian national in the attack and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.

The mission said it is coordinating with the Recruitment and Placement Services Licence (RPSL) agency and remains in contact with the family of the deceased.

The attack on the vessel has prompted close coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the remaining crew members.
