PDO to announce new social investment projects worth over OMR 3 million

Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is set to sign a number of social investment agreements on Sunday covering the sectors of education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and Omani youth development, with a total value exceeding OMR 3 million.

The agreements include support for a scholarship programme for students from schools located within PDO's concession areas, funding for the "Mustaid" Youth Skills Development Camp, support for an early warning system to monitor seawater quality, financing the establishment of a new specialized orthopedic clinic at Khoula Hospital, and the construction of a new Accident and Emergency Unit at Al Jazer Hospital, in addition to several other community initiatives.

The projects reflect four key pillars of PDO's corporate social investment strategy and align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by supporting national development, promoting sustainability, and delivering long-term social impact. They also reinforce the Vision's human development pillar through investment in education, youth empowerment, and skills development.

The initiatives further underscore PDO's ongoing corporate transformation toward a broader and more impactful role that extends beyond its core energy operations to creating sustainable value for society and the environment.

The company's approach reflects its leadership's commitment to balancing operational excellence with national responsibility by delivering long-term initiatives that contribute to the Sultanate of Oman's sustainable development and future prosperity.
