Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has issued a public notice directing the owners of several vessels to recover and remove their ships from their current locations within 30 days from the date of publication of the announcement.

The ministry said the notice applies to the vessel SEA LIGHT, which is stranded in the Al Joud area near the coast of Wilayat Al Suwaiq, as well as vessels anchored at Khor Al-Batah beside the wooden boatyard in the Wilayat of Sur.

MTCIT urged the owners to take the necessary action to remove the vessels within the specified timeframe.

The ministry warned that failure to comply within the 30-day period will result in legal procedures being initiated in accordance with the provisions of the Omani Maritime Law.

The announcement forms part of the ministry’s efforts to ensure maritime safety, protect the coastal environment, and maintain orderly navigation and port operations by addressing abandoned or stranded vessels.
