
Muscat: Acting in cooperation with the Arab Open University in the Sultanate of Oman, the Research and Innovation Authority (RIA) is organizing the 5th edition of the Research Skills Forum.
The forum, which began today and will run until 20 August 2026, sees the participation of 100 male and female researchers from among postgraduate students in higher education institutions in Oman.
Dr. Nisreen Yahya Al Balushi, In-Charge of the Department of Research and Innovation Capacity Building at the RIA, pointed out that the forum stems from efforts to upgrade the skills of postgraduate students and empower them in line with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040 in supporting scholarly research and innovation.
Dr. Nisreen explained that the 5th edition of the forum focuses on advanced analysis of statistical data, in implementation of a strategy to boost the efficiency the researchers to deal with data, interpret data and raise the quality of the research outputs in a manner that qualifies them for publication in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
For his part, Dr. Hamad Hilal Al Yahmadi, Dean of the College of Education at the Arab Open University in the Sultanate of Oman, said, stressed the need to maintain the strategic partnership with the RIA, in response to postgraduate students’ need to use modern statistical tools and develop their research skills.
