Oman Across Ages Museum welcomes one millionth visitor

MUSCAT: Oman Across Ages Museum has welcomed its one millionth visitor since opening its exhibition halls, marking a major milestone for the museum and highlighting its growing role as a cultural, educational and tourism destination.

The museum said visitors have come from both Oman and abroad, with Omanis accounting for 81% of total visitors and international tourists making up the remaining 19%.

A special ceremony was held to mark the arrival of the millionth visitor, who was honoured and taken on a tour of the museum’s galleries. The tour highlighted key historical sites, interactive exhibits and modern technologies used to present Oman’s history and cultural heritage.

Engineer Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of the Museum, said the milestone represents a celebration of all visitors who have come to discover Oman’s history and heritage.

He said the achievement reflects the museum’s continuous efforts since its opening and provides further motivation to develop the visitor experience.

Reaching one million visitors is a significant milestone in the museum’s journey and demonstrates the growing interest in the institution as a cultural and educational destination.

The museum officially opened on March 13, 2023, under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Since then, it has established itself as a prominent venue for presenting Oman’s history, civilisation and cultural heritage through modern exhibition techniques and interactive experiences.
