State Audit Authority participates in workshop on Capacity Development in Project Financial Management

Riyadh: The State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority participated in the Regional Workshop on Capacity Development in Project Financial Management, held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The workshop aimed to develop practical solutions to common challenges by leveraging innovative global best practices and emerging technologies. It features a number of specialised sessions with Supreme Audit Institutions, addressing the Islamic Development Bank’s audit requirements for project financial management, trends in project financial management practices at both country and project levels across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as well as the challenges and issues facing multilateral development banks in the financial audit of projects in the MENA region.

The workshop also discussed the approaches adopted by state audit institutions in auditing projects in emergency situations and fragile environments. It also includes a session on emerging trends in SAI auditing, in terms of developments in regulations and standards as well as the use of technology. Furthermore, the workshop highlights the importance of collaboration among multilateral development banks, international organisations, and SAIs to identify solutions and provide recommendations for improving project financial management.

The workshop was participated by Zaher Sulaiman Al Salmy, Deputy Chairman for Audit of Government Units in the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority.
