Oman, MSF discuss means of enhancing cooperation in humanitarian and medical fields

New York: The Sultanate of Oman and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) (Doctors Without Borders) discussed prospects for future cooperation and ways to enhance coordination and cooperation in the humanitarian and medical fields of mutual interest.

This came during a meeting between Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Qatabi, Head of the International Organizations Department at the Foreign Ministry and Laura Leyser, Secretary-General of the International Office of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), held at the headquarters of the Sultanate of Oman's Mission to the United Nations in New York.

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly, addressed the medical and humanitarian situations in a number of conflict and crisis zones, as well as the current humanitarian and regional challenges.

The meeting also reviewed the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in supporting humanitarian endeavors and contributing to mitigating the repercussions of crises.
