State Council to convene tomorrow to discuss draft laws

Muscat: The State Council will hold the 7th session of its 3rd ordinary sitting of the Eighth Term tomorrow, 30 March 2026. The meeting, which will discuss a number of draft laws, will be headed by Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

The 7th session will deal with the "Draft Law on Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances", the "Draft Law on Amending Some Provisions of the Bylaw on Protecting Personal Data", the "Draft Law on Amending Some Provisions of the Penal Law" and the "Draft Unified Scheme for International Land Transport among GCC States."

The session will also look into a report by the Council’s Secretariat General on the recent activities of the Council.
