
Muscat--- Anwar Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, today received Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, at the "Invest in Oman" lounge.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed existing cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus across various economic, commercial, and investment fields in a manner that contributes to achieving mutual interests and supporting economic growth paths.
The two sides discussed opportunities to boost trade exchange and underscored the importance of developing integration mechanisms within supply chains between the industrial sectors of both countries. This includes linking factories and companies through long-term supply contracts and production partnerships, and identifying inputs, intermediate materials, and industrial goods that can be exchanged or manufactured in an integrated manner, alongside promoting Omani exports to the Belarusian market.
Furthermore, the two parties explored enhancing industrial cooperation, discussing the possibility of establishing joint industrial projects in the priority sectors of both nations.
Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of businesspeople and the private sector by intensifying the regular exchange of trade and investment delegations. Such efforts aim to connect investors, manufacturers, and suppliers in sectors of mutual interest, thereby bolstering economic partnerships and opening broader horizons for cooperation between the two countries.
Notably, the volume of trade exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus reached approximately RO 374,800 during 2025. Omani exports were valued at around RO 274,200, while re-exports amounted to approximately RO 86,100, and imports were valued at RO 14,400. In terms of investment, total Belarusian investments in the Sultanate of Oman, according to commercial records, reached approximately RO 1.199 million by 2025, representing 96 percent of the capital in joint ventures through 10 companies and 11 shareholders. These activities are concentrated in the sectors of trade, information and communications, financial services, and professional and technical activities.
Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the services and facilities provided by the "Invest in Oman" lounge to investors, as well as the supportive and stimulating business environment it offers.
The meeting was attended by several officials from both sides.
