
Al Buraimi: The University of Al Buraimi today hosted the 2026 National Conference on Ophthalmology and ophthalmo-surgery organised by the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Buraimi Governorate and Al Buraimi Hospital, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
The conference was part of events to observe the World Sight Day that begin on 2 October every year. The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Salim Al Sunaidi, Wali of Al Buraimi.
The conference, which saw the participation of 300 professionals from Sultanate of Oman and abroad, discussed the latest developments and practices in ophthalmology and eye surgery.
The event included workshops on optometry and reviewed the latest updates and clinical solutions for keratoconus.
The National Conference on Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery, held annually in one of the Sultanate of Oman’s governorates, was held in Al Buraimi Governorate for the first time. The event serves as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise among physicians and specialists. It seeks to raise public awareness, highlight the latest developments and practices in the field, foster integration among the institutions concerned and support ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services in the Sultanate of Oman.
